Just Do It

There are many situations in life where we are trying to better ourselves. We always talk to close friends and relatives and tell ourselves that we need to make this change. Then nothing happens. We’ll talk the talk and not walk the walk. As a friend I’ll always say “Go to work”, or “Let’s make it happen”, or “Just do it”.

“It sounds easier said then done”. Your right SteelPhilosopher, not until this morning did I realize how correct you are. The reason it is so hard is that we are stuck in our way (sin) and we know that we can’t do anything of our own strength (Ephesians 6:12). That’s why you are correct. It never dawned on me how hard it is. Once we make up our minds to change we are hit harder then ever by the enemy, so if we try to change by ourselves we will be fighting a losing battle. We need to let God fight the battle of sin for us, since he has won that battle we need to trust him and run the race till the end. Getting up when we fall and keeping our eyes on him at the end. Talking to him every moment that we are faced with temptation and asking him for strength, truly giving our all. For the race is not given to the swift but to those who endure.

So the next time we need to Just Do It, we need to give it to God and do our part, by trusting in him.
